MEDIA INFORMATION - For Immediate Release

Company Expands into Sweden, now covers 11 Countries

Amsterdam, the Netherlands (16 December, 1996) - EUnet International, Europe's leading provider of Internet services, today announced its extension of coverage in the Nordic region through the establishment of EUnet Sweden a newly formed operation. In addition EUnet International will further expand through the acquisition of EUnet Romania, the first ever to provide commercial Internet services in Romania and the market leader in that country. Both companies will be wholly-owned subsidiaries of EUnet International. This brings the total number of companies owned by EUnet International to 11. EUnet's total coverage now spans 41 countries in Europe and beyond, delivered via a unique, owned and managed pan-European backbone network.

"When we established EUnet International in April 1996, it was our stated aim to expand the company's size and influence through mergers, acquisitions and start-ups," explained Wim Vink, EUnet International's managing director. "With this first step we have delivered on this promise. And this is only the first of a number of significant steps which we have planned into 1997. Our long term aim is to be a leading provider of Internet business solutions in major international markets."

EUnet Sweden is a new company which will offer the full range of EUnet services to businesses in Sweden (please refer to accompanying notes for details). EUnet has an existing POP in Stockholm, operated by EUnet Norway to support its own customers requiring Internet connections in Sweden. EUnet Sweden will take over the management from EUnet Norway and will implement a significant upgrade of the existing infrastructure in Sweden. EUnet Sweden has an aggressive business plan which predicts rapid revenue growth of the company, serving an estimated 1,000 clients.

"By establishing EUnet Sweden, EUnet International now covers 75% of the Nordic region," commented Marc Oswald, sales and marketing director of EUnet International. "EUnet Sweden will be able to provide an excellent level of service to existing EUnet International customers in the region."

Mikael Holmström, EUnet Sweden's general manager said: "The new company will provide high quality Internet solutions to new customers in Sweden - and for Swedish multinationals that need service throughout Europe we offer the advantages of dealing with the same organisation everywhere. With total EUnet coverage of 41 countries this offers significant benefits that no other Internet company in this market can provide."

In a major move that will propel EUnet Sweden to the forefront of delivering Internet solutions to businesses in Sweden, the company will shortly announce an important strategic partnership with a major commercial organisation in the Swedish market. Under the agreement, business customers will be able to quickly establish a commercial presence on the Worldwide Web via an easy to use publishing and commerce platform.

EUnet is further expanded its sphere of influence by offering services in new territories. For example, the EUnetTraveller service is now available in 23 countries in Europe and coverage has recently been extended to include the United States. This means that Swedish business travellers abroad can now stay in touch through access the Internet via a local telephone call in the country they are visiting. Coverage will further advance with plans to offer services in South Africa, Latin America, Australia, Japan and Hong Kong, starting in 1997. Such extensions will take EUnet to its goal of providing top quality Internet services businesses locally, nationally and globally.
