AMSTERDAM, The Netherlands; July 7, 1997:
EUnet International today announced the signing of a Business Partner Agreement
with Flashnet spa, located in Rome and Milan, and one of Italy's largest ISPs,
with one hundred seventy Points of Presence (PoPs) in one hundred cities across Italy. Under the terms of the agreement, Flashnet becomes EUnet's official
Business Partner in Italy, offering EUnet's complete one-stop shopping
range of services.
This agreement is expected to be of interest primarily to companies in
Italy with multiple locations abroad who wish to deal with only one
full-service ISP, and to EUnet International customers with locations in
Italy. In addition, Italian customers acquired through EUnet
International's business partners will also benefit from this agreement.
According to Wim Vink, managing director of EUnet International,"Flashnet's
reputation for efficiency and quality reflect the kind of Business Partner
EUnet International has been signing up all over the world." Flashnet has 5
Mb of fully redundant international capacity. The company, which employs
over fifty, is expanding rapidly, with a customer base that is currently
increasing at 12% per month. In addition, coverage is expected to increase
to over 250 PoPs throughout Italy by September.
"The enormous potential of this partnership will be welcomed by both
Italian companies who need to connect to their overseas offices and also to
international groups who are now able to use the extensive Italian network
provided by Flashnet," said Giovanni Prignano, President of Flashnet spa.
Under the terms of the Business Partner Agreement, Flashnet is also
authorised to offer EUnetTraveller, EUnet International's popular mobile
access service, in Italy. EUnet Traveller is currently available via a
local telephone call in twenty-five countries, and 420 PoPs. With the
announcement of the Business Partner Agreement in Italy, the number of
EUnet Traveller PoPs will increase to 590.
